Ask them if they'd go faster for a Klondike bar.

Around here, there used to be an automotive machine shop on almost every block..... today though, there isn't a single one left. Yep, they are ALL gone. Now, if you want machine work done, they have to send it out. Generally a minimum of two weeks turnaround time, if you are lucky. If you try at the wrong time, it can be MONTHS before you see your part back......

I'm lucky on that we have 3 in my area most told me 2 to 4 weeks the problem time is with the balancing shop in Phoenix AZ.

I'm using https://www.sandsmachineshop.com an old school shop in my area fair prices.

Basco installed the valves in the new head I didn't like their attitude though and pricey.

Talking Update

Update I ran into a problem the engine started binding up turned by hand and I wasn't happy with the rear crank seal.

So I disassembled the engine to see what was going on I finally decided to change the main bearings with a different set and a new rear seal. Its back together and no binding rear seal is a better quality so thats good.

I just installed the engine back in the truck this morning the new head goes in now it was easier to install with the head off to get at the trans bolts.
