1996 Dakota auto transmission

I have a 1996 Dodge Dakota with a V-8 engine. I'm looking for a auto transmission that will fit in this truck. Is there any other transmissions from other Chrysler products that will fit in my truck?

2 or 4 wheel drive? If 4x4, does the t-case shifter mount to the body, or the trans?

It's a 2 wheel drive.
