Pitch building whine on loaded accelerating and decelerating
Much help appreciated. Here's the scoop. 99 dak 5.2L 4x4 Went wheelin a few weeks ago. Now it has a funny (non-so-funny) noise..... Noise didnt come for a few weeks after wheeling. changed my differential fluid. Front was fine, rear was burnt, couple small chunks. The noise hasn't gotten better or worse. Gonna do some joint greasin hopefully tomorrow. Transfer case fluid this wkend. I tried to get it diagnosed and at that point they said ujoints were all solid. (Last wkend). I was thinking driveline or wheel bearing outside of the transcase. It's only prevalent when bearing load, mainly accelerating, barely when coming down in speed. Not cyclical and not related to rpm. I've also taken out the front drivline to see if the noise would go away to narrow it down and, the noise is still there. So, rear end to tranny somewhere. Definitely axle, wheel bearing, differential or transfer case.... I think.... Any ideas? Thanks again.
