Default I'm A New Member And Need Some Help.

I just bought a 2003 Dodge Dakota 4.7 V8 with 247000km on it. It has been sitting in my driveway for the past 2 weeks as I am still driving my Leased vehicle. I just notices a Leak in the Front End. Looks like oil and smells like oil but I would like to know what I'm looking at, can anyone Please Help. See Pic. Thank You So Much For Your Help. Sorry for the Crappy Pics.

Looks like normal accumulation to me..... Likely the axle seal there is going, and that's gear lube from the front diff.

If you have some mechanical aptitude, you could likely fix it yourself in a few hours. If you have to pay someone else to do it...... figure 3 to 4 hours at whatever their labor rate is, plus parts. (likely less than 50 bucks in parts.)

If you can fix it yourself, do it and save your money and know it's done right!!!

Gear oil has a very strong and distinct smell. Motor oil smells rather bland, if it helps to ID.
