Default 2003 Dakota 3.9 Towing

I have a 2003 Dakota V6 3.9 4X4 5 speed. I am picking up a 2004 Dakota V8 4X4 auto. Am I going to be able to pull this? I just got the 03 back in November and have not had to do much towing with it. Does anybody know what the tow rating on this truck is? Any recommendations that should be done if I can pull it?

Thanks in advance. I will be heading out to do this tonight. So I will be pulling the truck home tomorrow.

Oof. You'll be pushing it. The trailer MUST have working brakes! That means the truck must have an electric brake controller, or the trailer needs to have a hydraulic brake system.

The 2003 is in your favor with the big brakes, *BUT* They still struggle to stop the truck by itself. Add an 1800 pound trailer and 4500 pound truck and you will have stopping issues.
