Default Transfer case replacement

I'm buying a cheap 99 Dakota sport 4x4 with an exploded transfer case. Currently wrapped in duct tape to hold it together. I want to go to a U-pull yard for replacement. What truck can I get another out of?

It has the 5.2L with automatic transmission. The t case is floor shifted. I have no idea what t-case cuz of the I'd tag is covered. I just wanted to replace the t-case. But which trucks are interchangeable?

Likely NV231D. They can be found in 98 and up full size trucks, (half ton), Dakotas, of course, and probably Durango's as well. The 97 and older cases will have a different shift pattern, so, stick with the newer ones.
