Default '00 2.5L new clutch slipping

Couldn't find anyone else with this problem so here goes...A couple of years ago my clutch slipped while going thru town (engine revved a bit). At 160k I figured it must be the clutch so I replaced it with a Luk. I drove the truck (no hauling) back and forth to work for about a year and for the last year its been a "yard" truck. I've just started driving it again and the clutch slipping has returned. The old clutch didn't look to be in bad shape and I know this one is nearly new. Thoughts? ...and thanks all.

Did you replace the pressure plate as well? Throwout bearing?

Hhhhmmmm.... well, according to theory, the clutch/p-plate should be of good quality, LuK is OEM for some of the german cars..... Hydraulic or mechanical from pedal to t/o bearing? Are you getting full travel out of it AT the trans? (hydraulic t/o bearing???) Did you resurface the flywheel?

Did you do the work or a shop if you did you notice any oil on the disk?

I just installed a LuK clutch in my 2.5 the kit had a cheap looking half plastic throwout bearing I replaced with a higher quality all steal part like oem.

Was your throwout bearing the same that shouldn’t cause slippage though?

I don't recall what it looked like. Everything was clean on install. Since my post it seems to be holding.

This truck was sitting 95% percent on the time other than some 1st-2nd gear runs around the yard to collect debris, maybe to the store once a month for mower gas but never above 30-35mph or 3rd gear. Do you suppose the flywheel was rusty and now thats been cleared off with a few 65-70mph trips to work?

To make things really confusing, here is how yesterday went:
Drove to work 530am and clutch was fine.
Lunch at 11am and it slipped all the way there and back...had to milk in the throttle to accelerate.
Drove home at 3pm and clutch was fine.

That is weird

The 2000 2.5 used the NV1500 transmission my 98 has the AX-15 transmission how the clutch differs I dont know.

Too me you must have oil on the clutch disk I think the disk is contaminated or it has disintegrated some how.

Sounds to me that your hydraulic clutch master or perhaps the slave has rust inside the bore causing it to hang up keeping the clutch partially engaged.
