Default Head Gasket?

Hey guys, I've got a 2000 Dakota. The CHECK GAGES light was coming on for a couple of weeks... I realized yesterday that there was almost no radiator fluid in there. Now the engine is knocking pretty bad and there's a burning smell. Could this be a blow head gasket? What else do you think it could be?

What engine? If you ran it that low on coolant, good chance it's time for a new motor.

I agree, if there was no coolant going through the engine to cool it you just expanded all the parts in the engine from the heat.

Check gauges came on and you didn't check the gauges that were trying to tell you of a problem. Then drive 2 weeks until the engine starts knocking. Head gasket would not be the only problem now. Likely need an engine now that you waited 2 weeks to check anything. I suggest you turn your keys in and ride a bicycle. You may not be qualified to drive a vehicle.
