Reverse issue
I have a 02dakota 6cyl ,automatic.I took a pretty good drive on interstate 70miles,had went in to store an once I came back after about a hour it wouldn't shift correctly in reverse,it started to lightly then you not even rolling.
It drives fine in drive.I checked fluid an it was OK maybe a bit of bubbles .I will recheck if its high a hair
What do I need to look at 1st ?
An should it be OK to drive in forward?
I didnt see any cel on but I will test for hidden codes!
Thanks

Yes.
isnt there a part that has a rod in in you can get to ,after dropping pan ,that can break ?
an can be replacable?
Also ,is there usually any tranny codes from this an do the basic scanners pick up on tranny codes?.I have a nice scanner to test with .
thanks

what are those parts that commonly may fall out?
I know it may not apply to mine but wanted to get a idea.
i did see that the servo part at piston can be faulty an the bands can be off also .a shift solonoid too but that should throw a code.iim not getting any codes.
I feel a tad of movement but it's like no hard shift just air like

There are a couple parts in the trans that can fall out, and cause some interesting issues......
