Default 2001 Dodge dakota 4.7 to 5.2 engine swap?

Hi, I own a 2001 Dodge Dakota with a 4.7 and a manual 5 speed NV3500 transmission and 4 wheel drive. As of recently, the 4.7 engine in my truck has been quickly degrading and I don't want to rebuild or mess with the 4.7 engine as I've heard and been through many of the problems they have. I wish to swap in a 5.2 318 engine of the same year or close to the same year.

I have many questions about the swap. One being, will the 5.2 use the same engine mounts as the 4.7? Another question I have is will the 5.2 bolt on to the NV3500 from the 4.7 without an adapter plate or modifications to the rear or front driveline? If you were to rate the swap out of 10, 1 being less difficult and 10 being most difficult, what would you rate it?

Nothing is the same. It would actually be easier to install the 5.7 hemi. There are several threads about just such a swap in the 2nd gen dakota section. Check 'em out.
