Default Transmission cooling lines (I Think) leaking?

I have a 2002 Dakota Quad 4WD with the 4.7 engine. I think I have a transmission line leaking and want to make sure of my repair idea.

There are two steel lines running along the passenger side of the transmission. They are running about in inch apart from each other and joined with a plastic clip. Right at the plastic clip there is a leak when running.

Can I cut the leaking section out and use fuel line and clamps to repair?

Just took a picture of it. What do you think?

Use hose rated for trans fluid, aside from that, your idea will work fine. Secure the lines though, so they don't rattle, and break somewhere else.

I would imagine 3/8ths. Flare the ends of the pipe a bit, and double hose clamps at each end.

this. 3/8 transmission or hydraulic line, flare the edge, and double clamp the hose.
