Transfer case compatibility

Default Transfer case compatibility

I have a 2000 dodge Dakota 5spd manual trans with a 4.7 l
my transfer case recently blew I found out it was cause of my yokes on the drive shaft were bad only thing is the transfer case I took off of it was a 231d from a ram and that it originally comes with is nv231 from the research that I’ve done .... but I’m still not sure cause I’ve found a 231d tcase for cheaper just want to know if is there any compatibility on these or any information would help

They are the same t-case. There are some differences over the years though. Shifter mounting, shift pattern, and whether or not it has the provision for the VSS in the tailshaft. (which you won't need.)
