I recently bought a 1997 Dakota 3.9l. All the emissions parts were taken off. I have
Where I live vehicles have to pass emissions. Because the former owner removed them, I have to replace all of the missing emissions parts. I've been searching the web for a list of all the emissions part that belong on my pick up with no luck. I was hoping someone on here might be able to help me. Once again, it is a 1997 Dodge Dakota with a 3.9l v6 Standard transmission. I need a list of all the emission parts that it had from the factory.
I think the only things it had was PCV, which every engine has, and a catalytic converter. EGR went the way of the dodo in 96 on the magnum engines. There may be a block off plate on the intake, but, if it's there, it came that way from the factory.
on a 97, resistor out the solenoid and the engine light will go away. It won't exactly pass visual, but they would have to know what to look for (or know what's missing). Weld a cat in and go...assuming both O2 sensors exist?
I don't know the specifics, somebody else in here might...else you can google it. The ability went away on 2000 and newer, which is what I know...
