Is a 5.2l cylinder head inter changeable with a 3.9l cylinder? I have a 2000 dodge dakota quad cab 3.9l v6 magnum.

Considering there's an extra set of pistons, I'm leaning towards a solid no. V6 has 3 pistons on each side, 5.2 V8 has 4 pistons on each side, making the heads longer. You'll have to get one from a 3.9. Lucky for you, you have the choice of 92-03, those were the running years of the 3.9 Magnum.

Thank you for responding to my question i was thinking no as well but wasn't sure. Also thank you for giving me a year range so i can consider those as well as the 2000.
