Default 01 4.7l R&R

Hi, everyone I'm new here. I'm currently trying to install a 4.7l reman long block from powertrains. I am basically ready to put the new engine in my 01 dodge dakota. I notice two holes in the block near the oil dipstick mount. The smallest expansion plugs they make for this motor are to big. I cant find any information about these holes theres no bolt threads. Im not even sure if these have to be plugged. If anyone has information about these holes plz let me know

I sure hope the engine has the right tooth count on the tone rings, otherwise you'll have problems. 01/02 is one set of tone rings, 03+ are another set. not compatible and a PITA to change.

I made sure of it I have the 16 toothed tone ring. I just noticed the 2 holes in the block near the oil dipstick mount. I'm not sure if there is anything that is supposed to seal the holes. One is located on the top of the block near the dipstick and the other is located on the side right behind the right head.

Call Powertrain. They will help. You already paid for their services.
