Question Reverse Lights

I have an issue with my reverse lights I have checked all the fuses and relays and all have been replaced. Or checked. I simply don't have power to the wires reverse wires in my harness back to my tail lights My conclusion of drawn that it only can be the transmission range sensor, which is located inside the transmission. Before I go and dig that far into it is there anything that I'm missing? Because that's quite a job just to find out there was nothing wrong with the sensor.

Pull a bulb out, verify the black wire is a good ground using an ohmmeter.

If you open the loom on the driver side frame rail, there is a purple wire in that loom for the reverse lights, coming from the reverse switch. You can verify lack of voltage there as well.

If you have an auto-dim mirror, that is also powered by the reverse lights. The dimming function disables in reverse to provide better visibility using the light created by the backup lamps.
