Question the 2000 dakota quad cab i have picked up does not have the dte diplay in the overhead console. It has a clip instead. are these trucks all plug and play? My 97 had one i dont see why this year does not. Are they all innerchangeable?

 

Stay within the half-generation. Wiring should be there.

 

The wiring wasn't there on my 2002. I had to run a switched power ( I think, it may have been a 12v permanent hot) and tap into the bus wire down by the ctm which was yellow/violet. I also had to get an outside air temp sensor from the junkyard and install it to get the temp function to work. The wiring for the temp sensor was there.. go figure.

 

Eh, maybe i'm wrong. I thought I'd read that it was there.

With I was like Brian Whitley and just had my own dakota junkyard at times. would make life easy for some folk.

 

It wasn't there on my '00 Club Cab either. Still, it's not difficult to wire at all.

But, you do have to find one from an '00 or possibly earlier. '01 and up changed the computer bus and it will not work.

 

I stand corrected and clearly recalled the wrong syntax.

 

Wow seems weird they had it in 97 the got rid of it in 2000 i dont eeven know what they were thinking with the clip lol
