Default 2001 4.7 engines

I own a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.7 engine and bad body. Would this engine work in a 2001 Dakota that has a bad 4.7 in it. Both are 4 wheel drive Jeep is an auto and Dakota is a 5 speed. The engine in the Jeep runs good never any problems with it. The Dakota I don’t know anything about. I seen it listed for sale and got the idea of swapping the engine into it. Any help would be awesome. Thanks, Jim

Should be a direct swap. While the engine is out, replace the clutch/p-plate/t-o bearing as well, you will also need the pilot bearing/bushing (whichever it is) in the end of the crank as well. (might be able to salvage that from the original motor.) May need to swap the oil pan, but, not 100% on that.

Thanks for the information. I was thinking it should be a direct swap but sometimes there are curve *****.
