Water pump bolts for 2001 3.9 V6

What is the best way to verify which water pump bolts go into water jackets in order to put sealant during install of a new water pump? My Chilton's manual does not say anything about that.

The four corners; 2 on either side of the ducting. Or as mentioned, the long ones. should be for @ 3 inches long and several only 1 inch long.
