Default Front Drive shaft interchange

Need a new front drive shaft for a 99 Dakota 4wd club cab (double cardone style with u joints on both ends)
Its got an 01 Dakota t-case (np231) that has the same ujoint on the front driveshaft as the original.
Cant find any used Dakota driveshafts that'll work. Anyone know what driveshafts are interchangeable?

To an extent...drive shaft itself is fine.
The seat for the ball joint in the double cardone is in bad shape..would need a new one and need a new ball kit. Used driveshafts are goin for $40 at the upick...that one piece new theyre looking for $300.

Ouch. I would be tempted to see what it would take to convert it to use the CV joint at the t-case end..... I suspect it would just require replacing the front output flange on the t-case.

Not a bad idea.. will have to see if it is just as easy as unbolting the ujoint attachment and throwing a flange on er.
