Unfortunately you are too correct. I'm going to start disconnecting and reconnecting the sensor plug-ins and see if I get better results.

Incidentally, the motor caught yesterday and I drove it for a few miles never letting it below 1.000 RPM. Back at home I let it go to idle and after a few minutes it died and did not want to
restart (I didn't want to run down the battery so I only tried a few times). Will try again tomorrow.
