Does anyone know if a 2000 318 will swap without issue or any further swapping into a 99 with the same engine? Thnx

The 318 was not offered in 2000. The two available v8s were the 5.9L 360 Magnum, and 4.7L Powertech. If the donor is a 4.7, it will not work. The 5.9 will work, but you have to change the flexplate, as they are externally balanced. Your 318 PCM will run the 360, but suggested to look for or reprogram yours for a 99 360, just to ensure fuel trim is correct.

The motor is out a 2000 half ton, it’s got 170k on it, runs mint, however, I’m unsure if it’s a simple swap, where I take mine out, and hook that up, or is it different where I’d need more than the engine, I’ve been looking for a solid 6 months, and haven’t found anything between 97 and 99, so now I’m considering a 2000 engine out of a half ton, thnx for the reply

A 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 can have a 5.2L, should be a direct drop no modifications needed. Any 318 from the 2nd gen ram should work 94-01. It's the exact same engine. Any 1992-1999 dakota, or 1994-2001 ram 1500 318 is a direct drop. However, 92-95 318 from a dakota will require using your old sensors, and an EGR block plate.
