The ol' clock spring... Responsible for the airbag, horn, and other steering wheel controls, like cruise and radio. I had to swap mine when I installed cruise control on my Dakota.
I was so sure it WASN'T the clockspring because cruise control and horn worked perfectly and the air bag light always came on. It was never intermittent. That part was always in the $200-$300 range so I didn't want to risk it. When one popped up on eBay for $65, I jumped on it!

Should have hit a junkyard, got mine for $8 with a warranty.

I have this thing about buying wearable parts used. There's always that chance I'm going to buy and install a part that's worse than the one I'm replacing. LOL
