Not with the 4.7. The pressure switch is underneath next to the oil filter, so it would be hitting the ground.
Sensor on my 8.0 is in the same place. Makes it MUCH easier to work on, and it would also be patently obvious if it were leaking, and if it were, it would indeed show a puddle, or at least spots, on the ground....
Yea it would leave a lot!
Maybe his is where mine is . By distributor.
I still cant see how that much gone that fast wouldnt show so.something..or a smell of it burning

My 96 would burn through a quart every 150 miles or so. Nothing on the ground, no blue smoke, just a light puff at startup after it had been sitting for a while. (day or more.) No clue where it was going.....
Great to hear.
But how did the oil pressure guage switch cause so much oil to be lost ? Or burned up so fast.?
I'm still at a loss as to where my oil was going. I read where a severely dirty air filter or a bad PCV valve would cause drastic oil loss so I changed my PCV valve and cleaned my K&N air filter. I found no oil in the air filter box and the PCV valve was very dirty but still rattled.
I thought possibly it was a leaking oil pressure gauge switch but I found no evidence of leaking oil around it when I was changing it out.
I'm continuing to watch my oil level and will check it daily until I am satisfied the problem has been remedied.
