I can't get 4 hi or 4 lo to engage, I get a flashing indicator light. anybody have any info on this problem

 

At least it's flashing. Mine went blank and they had to replace the shift motor or something. It's about a $300-350 repair at the dealer. Yours may be a different problem though.

 

I have same truck same year so I don't like to hear problems like this.............but nevertheless it sounds to me like something sticking down there, I would get under there and find the actuator on the transfer case and tap on it......gently. also loook for bad connections on wiring and just wiggle everything....thats what I would do.

 

.... who really take a vehicle into a dealership for "out-of-warranty" work ?? That's the most expensive place you can go!

 

Not me, I bought the extended warranty because of the tranny, t-case, and intake manifold/head issues. If I had the floor-shift I probably would have skipped the warranty, but so far I've used about $400 worth of warranty.
