Default 1997 dakota 2WD transmission issue

I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota automatic 2WD 6cyl. Last week it stopped shifting into higher gears. Stays in 1st and will not shift up. Fluid is clean and filter was changed just 9 months ago. I changed transmission output speed sensor. Didn't help. Any ideas anyone ?

Are you low on fuel? Ive heard that the late 90s dodge trucks sometimes will not shift if low on gas. Otherwise you might need to look into a new valve body. You can find them used with a quick google search

drop the pan. You've got large chunks laying in there that belong a little further up. If you have an inch-pound torque wrench, it's a free fix in your driveway. Slide the strap back in place and tighten the adjuster stud.
