You and me both. I killed the fuel pump and bumped the motor and it reciprocated. With the bore scope I checked and couldn't see anything foreign. Valves looked ok?

A buddy just mentioned that colder plugs are longer. I will do some digging after work. I do remember that detonation was an issue.

Yeah, aol doesn't change with heat ranges. Talked to a machinest today about "today's" options. Turns out that newer efi systems are cheaper, and are way better than the older one I have. He also said that E85 is freaking awesome when it comes to making power. Time to yank her out and see what's going on with it.
