Hi guys. Time to get an old dog back in the fight. I'm the original owner of a 99' r/t Dak. It's been sitting for over 10 years.49k original miles, no rust, 403, Kenny bell, aeromotive 1000hp fuel pump and 80# injectors. 10-12# of boost. Had a piston kiss a sparkplug 300 miles after the rebuild and just parked it. My current question is rebuild the magnum again, or do some kind of hemi swap? Thanks.

I would be real tempted to rebuild the magnum engine. With the blower, and various other doo-dads, you aren't going to be able to get those kind of power numbers from a hemi, for the same money.

Welcome to DF! We would love to see pics of the build.

Yeah, I think that truck deserves that engine. Some parts may be fun to find, but, in the end, it would definitely be worth it.

Wrong plugs?? Real curious what bent the electrodes like that.

Last two look like they are running rich.

Motor had just been rebuilt, shop put new heads on it and this happened within 300 miles of test n tune. I took my bore scope out with me but it's kinda hard to make out much detail.

I'm trying to understand how a piston reaches the plug unless it separated from the crankshaft and even then, it should be too low below the plug. Maybe you had a valve break off or come loose?
