Default Climate Control

2003 Dakota. Have an issue that I can not figure out. The fan speed on my climate control is not working. Will not turn off or change speeds. I can move the **** back and forth but it is stuck on blowing high. Everything else works on it but the fan speed. I have already changed the resistor and still nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

The fan speed is controlled on the ground side of the motor. The motor always receives +12 volts. One possibility is a fault in the HVAC controller itself.

When you replaced the resistor, did you notice any damage/melting to the wiring?

Look under the dash for any short to ground on the wiring from the blower motor.

Sounds like its stuck on the high circuit ,which can be from wiring issue to resistor or when its burnt in resistor.
Did you replace the wiring along with resistor ?
Likely that new resistor is fried like old one .
Test wiring , 12v to blower ,resistor,an switch.

It may be a wiring problem. The original owner jerry rigged it and put in the wrong climate control. I have the right one coming so im going to put it in and redo the wiring.
