Default Power window issue

Hello,
Here’s the situation:
Vehicle: 02 DAKOTA R/T club cab
problem: power windows
Problems:
1) Diver side control panel will not roll down/up the driver side window, but will roll down/up the passenger window and work the power locks.
2) passenger side control panel will not roll down/up passenger window, but does control power locks.
Attempt to fix:
1) swapped out the passenger side control panel. Result: passenger window went up/down from the passenger panel.
2) swapped out the driver side control panel. Result: still able to control passenger window and power door locks, And the driver side window was functional.
All fixed, right?? WRONG!!
New problem:
1) Next day after everything was working as it should, the same exact issues reappeared. Driver side window doesn’t work from the driver side control panel but does work the passenger window and locks, and the passenger side window no longer works from the passenger side control panel but works the locks.

Someone please tell me why? Don’t understand why the fix worked, and then the next day the same issue reappears???

On mine the contacts inside the window control on drivers side were worn ,including that window lock button.,an sometimes it worked /other times not .I put another control in an have no issues now..
Look at the plug in connectors on passenger window control also ,for good connections.

The safety lock switch is a known failure item. Pop the driver side control panel from the door and wiggle the wires while working the window switch.

Mine doesn't even work unless I remove from the door.

I tried this or something similar. Got no response. Just don’t understand how i got it to work with changing both control panels, and then back to nothing?? The connections look good too. But I’ll try again.

thank you

The common hack is to just de-pin the two safety lock wires and connect them together permanently. I need to do it one of these days.

Do you think the issue is definitely the window lock? If so, how do definitely remedy this w/out the bypass suggestion? I replaced the panels with other used panels. Do I need to get new panels or mess with the wire contacts and or adaptors?

thank you
