Replacing Speaker, 2001 Dakota Quadcab
The woofer in the driver side of my Dakota is disintegrating. There was a paper decal on the back of the speaker that is also destroyed, and I could not make out any specs on it (ohms, watts, etc). Read somewhere that the stock Infinity amp in these trucks support 2 ohm speakers (vs 4-8 ohms), is that correct, or do I have to locate and extract the amp to make sure?
Also, I see the stock Infinity speaker has 3 mounting tabs instead of the usual 4; does that mean special modifications to get an after-market speaker to fit?

Can just replace the foams for cheap if interested. I did all mine years ago, still sounding great. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ml#post2917531
The speakers are still being sold....

I threw all mine away when I upgraded years back. You might find them in junkyards too, but these are one of the few parts aftermarket makes better. Sky's the limit.

aftermarket speakers from crutchfield will include the 3 to 4 tab adapter if you use the what-fits tool, some 6.5's come with both mounting options cast into the basket.
