Default Hi beam problem 98 Dakota

My hi beams only work if I hold the turn signal lever back, when I let go they go back to lo beam. I have tried two different multi function switches and that is not what's wrong with it. What do I look for? Thanks

Was one of the ones you tried a new one? If not, you probably have two bad ones.

I don't have a 98 manual, but i believe those are direct wired instead of through a module.

Odd that flash-to-pass is working but not the high beams. I'd check the relays first.

They are direct wired. The headlamps should always be hot with the ground side switched.
