Default Brake warning lamp 2002 Dakota 4x4

Pretty regularly I'll get the brake warning lamp come on when I first start or when I'm driving occasionally. It also illuminates the abs light. The reservoir is full and I don't see any leaks anywhere. The parking brake is always disengaged and it seems when I'm backing out of my driveway or my spot at work, then start going forward, that it will go away and won't usually reappear until a day or two later and will often do the same thing. I don't seem to have any issues with braking otherwise. Would this indicate that rear brakes are very worn or out of adjustment or is it something else?
