Default 4Hi light blinks

When I try to engage 4hi the light blinks for a little then goes back to a green light on AWD, same with 4 lo. Does anyone know what is causing this issue? It doesn't engage at all.

It's not shifting. So, either the controller, or the shift motor is failing. I *think* you can read codes, and it will tell you what it thinks is going on. Probably need a fairly high zoot scanner to read them though. Don't know if the average parts store scanner will. Although, the scanners they use at advance here where I live, could read ABS, and SRS codes.....

Well I took it to oreillys and it showed 0 codes for all systems which is why I'm confused, I'm having a shop inspect it for free to see if they can figure it out.

Well the shop couldn't figure it out and there's no 4x4 service light on. It had a broken speed sensor in the right front which I fixed then erased the codes, still no luck. Any advice on what it could be?
