Hey guys, new here. I will be rebuilding a NV3500 from a 2002 Dodge Dakota 2WD next week and I'm wondering if anyone here has any extra info for me.

I'm going to buy a factory shop manual, and I got a rebuilt kit as well as all three shift forks.

There are lots of "special tools" this transmission apparently requires, but I've heard of people not using any of them.

Any tips or tricks you guys can help out with? Anybody else rebuild one before here? Thanks!!

Never had to rebuild my NV3500. All I can tell you is be sure to use the correct lubricant when you're done.
