4.7 HO/STD hybrid build?
So in my last post I had stated that my motor has a head or head gasket problem and for the sake of time, I think it'll be beneficial on time.if I just swap engines. Well I just got a 4.7 from an 02 Durango that needs at least a cylinder head and timing set, I don't know the full extent of the damage just yet.
I kind of want to rebuild this but I'd want more power if I do. From what I've read the major difference between the STD and HO is pistons, cams, valve springs and knock sensors. Realistically, that's pretty reasonable considering that the engine will be pretty much torn down that far anyways.
So could I use HO pistons, cams, and valve springs in a standard block and bottom end? Or is that just asking for trouble?
