Was doing my front brakes and happened to notice the front body perches on both sides are rotten as can be, barely hanging on. How can these be replaced or can they even be? What is the worst that can happen if and when they finally give way? Only 120K on this Dak, but it's spent it's whole life around saltwater and road salt also.

 

Depending on the year of your truck, you might be able to find new ones. If not, a good fabricator could rebuild them. (decent body shop) Fortunately, there are more than two of them, so, if those fail, the cab isn't going to fall off the truck at least, however, it will kinda bounce around, which really isn't good....... Can make for some truly interesting driving characteristics.
