Default Transmission swap problems

I have a 2003 2wd automatic and I recently changed the transmission. The one I got out of the yard looked the same but the park neutral switch is different. I was able to rewire the switch to make it work. My problem now is that it won’t go into overdrive. Was wondering what I need to check to fix it . Thanks for your time

You have a 2003 with 5-wire NSS and likely replaced it with a 3-wire NSS and you also have the rolling squares across the gear indicator.

Consider yourself lucky that it works at all - probably several codes that you can't see because they (thankfully) don't trip an engine light. It's a complicated system.

In terms of your immediate issue, more than likely the OD clutch is knocked out of it or there is a valvebody issue. I have heard conflicting reports that if the PCM gets confused due to the lacking 5-pin mux signal, it will not allow over 2,000 RPM and will not properly shift. But i have also heard of vehicles that it worked fine.
