Did you bench bleed the master before installation?

There is a rubber plug on the back of the ABS module. It protects the displacement plunger and spring.

Remove this rubber plug, unfold a paperclip, and insert it into the hole in the housing. Have somebody hit the brakes with engine running.

If the paperclip gets pushed out, you have a valve hung.

If fluid comes out when you remove the rubber plug, you have a valve hung and a bad displacement plunger.

I have two aluminum 'modules' on the firewall.

Top one has two brake lines(one on each end) and two solenoids (?) on the top.
Has ONE rubber plug on the end that is closest to the firewall.

Bottom one has four brake lines and TWO rubber plugs, one on each end.
Both have electrical connectors.
Which one do I test?
Again, I greatly appreciate your assistance,
Tom/Idaho

First one is the ABS module. One solenoid is the dump, the other is the fill. That rubber plug facing the firewall is the correct one.

The second one is the proportioning valve. It has a shuttle switch that tells the cluster when there's a hydraulic failure.

Removed the rubber plug & inserted straightened paper clip in the one w/solenoids.
Nothing came out and the paper clip did not move with motor running and brakes applied.

So, what's next?
Thank you again for your assistance,
Tom/Idaho

One more thing. A month or so ago the ABS light came on. Auto parts store guy tested it and said the brake switch is the problem
Started it the Next day and the ABS light was out.
Have not had any warning lights since.
Thanks, Tom/Idaho
