Default Yellow plastic pull handle on top of fuel

Can't get pictures to load, hoping somebody can still help. Under my 98 today I spotted a yellow plastic handle like thing on top of the fuel tank. I pulled on it a little bit, but it is attached to something. I didn't pull too much harder in case it was something important. Any ideas with this is?
For reference, it is located on top of the fuel tank at the front of the fuel tank facing the front of the truck.

Can you get a mirror up there to have a look? The picture did indeed load.

Not really. It's at the very top of the tank, it almost seems like where the sending unit might be.
That's strange, on my end I can't see any pictures. But I'm using the garage talk app maybe that's the issue
I need to replace the sending unit component anyways. So pretty soon I'll be lifting the bed up. I'll see what happens then.

Probably a lift handle - but there should be one actually molded into the top of the tank itself. Possible a PO dropped the tank before and added that loop to hang over the end for hanging from a jackstand or jib.
