Default Torque loss ideas

1999 sport v8 4wd. It has lost a lot of torque and is taking longer to shift (automatic trans and rpm go about 1-2k later then it used to shift at). Looking for any idea as to what to check out. Some people around me say it the catalytic converters, others are saying my transmission is going. Anything helps. TIA!

Hook a vacuum gauge to it and see what it pulls. A healthy engine will pull 17-20 inches of vacuum at idle. The gauge will tell you a lot about what's going on inside your engine. If it start high and then drops for instance, you have a partially pulugged exhaust.
