2001 4.7 wont run HELP please!!
Hello, I recently bought a 2001 4.7 4x4 with 170k miles. Truck ran fine when I bought it, only blew a little white smoke. I brought it to a small local shop and was advised it needed all new gaskets, including head gasket. Long story short, now it wont even run and is sitting in the shops lot as the tech ignores my calls. It will fire up only if I hold the gas all the way to the floor and then it cuts right off. Aside from the gaskets,I have also put....
-new pcmr
-battery
-fuel pump
-spark plugs
-timing chain
I am sick to my stomach over this because the mechanic has seemed to have given up after I have already paid him $750 plus part costs to fix my truck and now I cant even drive across town to my yard....
maybe timing is off now?
any help will be greatly appreciated!

I'm having that same feeling. I honestly dont know what kind of diagnostics hes domr to this point bc hed nit answering my calls. Last he said was some security light was also on and I'm going to buy my own code reader this week. I'm guessing first place to start will be compression testing/check timing and see what codes its throwing. I'm hoping maybe he just missed a plug or a ground, but who knows with Chrysler.
