Default 2000 Dakota - Seats Interchageability

Looking for information on Seats Interchangeability. are the newer models seats the same general brackets and location as the older models or has anyone tried swapping any from any other years and generations other than up to 2004?

Mine is a 2000 Dakota quad cab; just interested in the front seats.

1997 to 2004 Dakota are interchangeable, along with 97-2003 Durango. You've got bench and bucket seats. The buckets require the center console if replacing bench. Also, the cushions are swappable if you want to replace a driver's side with passenger.

That's what i was afraid of; wasn't sure if the brackets and stuff would be the same on the newer years; or jeeps etc. since alot of the time they shared common parts , seats etc. to save money... .I have the center console type so i have bucket seats... ill just keep looking for stock seats.

I would love to get my hands on some RT seats or the heated seats.

Call me weird, but I've never understood why people like heated seats. I'm one of those people that stays warm and every time I've tried them, I get uncomfortably hot in minutes. Having heat coming at my butt and back has never worked for me. The wife loves them though. LOL

I am always cold. (various health issues contribute....) My buddy has a Jeep with heated seats, and on those cold winter days, they are NICE.

Change "heated" to "cooled" then, and you'll understand why people like them. In our family ride my wife leaves hers on at all times when it's below 50 degrees out, I'll turn mine on for about 10 minutes to chase the chill off the leather when it's below 30.

It all depends on what temperature people are accustomed to. For some folks it's easier just to get the aftermarket pads and have heated cloth
