I'm trying to narrow down where my ticking noise is coming from and I can hear it the loudest in this metal line that runs parallel to the valve covers. Any idea why it would be coming from there and what it is? Any help would be appreciated.

 

That's the fuel rail, to which all the injectors are connected. Injectors can tick, but most likely the tic is probably from your valves. Take a long screwdriver, or other object and touch it to the valve cover (or whatever else you want to listen to), then place the other end to your ear.
