Cost comparison new motor
Does this include installation and cores? Rebuilt or used? It looks like a decent price. The last time I riced engines was for a used 4.7 and it was $1800. If they are putting the engine in to where you just write a check and drive it home, I'd say it's pretty good. Be sure to ask if they will replace the front seal on the transmission though. I do that ANY time I pull and engine or transmission.

Sky is the limit. If you are mechanically inclined up up for an adventure consider doing your own rebuild. I would never stuff a used engine into something I have to depend on, like a work truck... or fishing truck. Nice thing about doing your own is you know exactly what's in it and are in control. I like to balance my engines, upgrade the valve train etc.
