I just recently bought a pcm for it now it starts runs for a second or two then shuts off like it's starving for gas or something I don't understand

 

Have you checked fuel pressure?

 

Woah man that's weird. My dakota, exact same year, exact same engine is doing the exact same thing. But some stuff you might want to check that didn't work for me but might work for you.

Throttle Position Sensor
Idle Air Control Valve
Clean Your Grounds, Firewall, inner fenders, near battery, under the steering wheel near hood latch.
Wiring Near the Power Distribution Centre, under the hood.
Automatic Shutoff relay, try switching with the horn relay.
Auto shutoff fuse, try switching it with another one of the same amperage.
