Default Blower problems

2001 Dakota. It started with a loss of all blower speeds except hurricane mode. Then I lost all fan speeds. I replaced the blower resistor and voila! it all worked perfectly..... (for ONE day) and now it is dead once again. I looked for a fuse that might be the problem but they seem to be intact. Is there anything else to check before I have to purchase a new climate control panel?

The other problem is door locks clicking constantly. I have heard the repair is horribly expensive and have managed to train myself to go nowhere without an extra set of keys.... or leave a window open. I did disconnect all the door lock plug ins looking for a possible short but it continued to click during each disconnect. Its been doing this for 2 years. I obviously have some electrical problems. Any tips on where to start looking?

Check the power plug for the blower. Mine was partially melted inside, replacing the wiring harness plug solved the problem.

On the door locks, might be the CTM, which is behind the driver side kick panel next to the parking brake.

Just something to check, but might be time for new blower motor. As bearings get shot, fan draws more current to turn, which can lead to this type of issue.

I removed the newly installed blower resistor and found it had a burnt prong. Same one as the one I removed. I obviously have some electrical problems going on.

Follow the circuit from the resistor, to ground. Clean every contact, and make DARN SURE you have a GOOD ground.
