Default 5.2 to 5.9 swop. Pcm issues.

97 4x4. Sport.
put a Simi built 5.9l out of a 2000 R/T that was 2 wheel drive. Didn't get the pcm with it.
I have 4 pcms. Every one I have tryed has issues.
The original one. The check engine lights on. Check gage lights on. O/d stays off. Won't turn on.
The 99 pcm that I got from junk yard. Won't charge battery.
Half the gages don't work.
The 98 ram 1500 4x4 pcm from junk yard. None of the gages work. But truck seems to run fine. But with no gages. Don't know how fast I'm going or gas level. Fuel light stays on.
The forth one I have. Is lost in shed. Haven't been able to find.

If I take the original pcm to the dealership. Will they be able to reprogram it. So that everything like the dash gages work? To where I will have no issues with it?

The motor has a bigger cam. Aftermarket heads. Intake has been notified for better air flow.
Truck runs really good. Has a lot more hp. And torque. Very satisfied with the outcome. All but the pcm.

Dealership needs the PCM IN the truck to do anything with it.

Quite a bit changed in the way things work from 97 to 98, the newer computers simply won't work in your 97. (as you have discovered. )

Which trans is in it? (and what year is the trans.)
