Got quick question I have two 2003 Dodge dakota sports. One has 3.7 the other has 3.9. The one with the 3.9 has been wrecked and blown transmission. The other 2003 has 3.7 and motor shot and straight clean truck. My question does anyone know what major difference will i encounter on swap the motor? will the belling housing be different ? Just try get ideal what all I will need to do etc. Anything I need I would assume I can get from the donor truck. I would assume both being the same year should not be too much difference as they are both the same chassis.

3.7 and 3.9 are two completely different engines. Different designs, different configuration, different electronics..... etc. It would be MUCH easier to find another 3.7 to drop in there, and a LOT less work.
