Currently i am experiencing what is probably the most annoying noises out of my truck possible, this noise occures when you hit about 80kms per hour and increases with speed. However i have searched the threads before posting and cannot find an answer for this. Once upon a time i stumbled upon a threat indicating that the problem maybe the windscreen. When i brought it to my normal mechanic to work on and we took it our for a test drive for the life of him he never heard of such a thing, time for a new mechanic I say.

However, does anyone know how to change a windscreen? What is needed and the details on sucessfully repairing this annoyance without doing something retarded like end up having to take it to the dealer and get reemed on dealership hourly rates?

 

If its the windscreen, let an auto glass shop do it. Its not exaclty a home mechanics project. Ironically the windscreen needs to be properly installed since its part of the roll structure of a vehicle.

Where is the leak coming from exactly? It might be a door seal issue. Drive 80-100kmph and put your finger around the surround of the window. Or you could take a piece of blue painting tape (the stuff that doesnt leave residue) and place a 20cm long piece over various parts of the windscreen on teh outside and use that to locate it. I would check teh door seals also.

 

Do you have Ventvisors installed? After I installed mine, I noticed wind noise, but it was nothing annoying.

 

Yah i do have the vent visors, but this noise isn't a result of these this is somethign sounding like it's right in the front of my dash... kinda like if you put a card in a while spoke on a bicycle It's kinda horrid and i'm quite certain it is the Windscreen however i have yet a nice warm day to tape around it to find out exactly where it is comming from, winter time freeze nothing sticks to the cold glass.
